Email your Senators to Ask Them to Take a Stand on the Global Tobacco Treaty!

Can you imagine a world where tobacco ads don’t appear in convenience store windows and where soccer fields and race cars are free from tobacco corporation logos? A world without tobacco ads is where we’re headedled by the 148 nations that have ratified the global tobacco treaty.

Though President Bush signed the global tobacco treaty three years ago today, he has refused to release it to the Senate for a ratification vote, the first step toward banning tobacco ads and ending tobacco industry interference in health policy in our country. During the President’s three-year delay, 1.2 million Americans have lost their lives to tobacco related-illnesses. We can stop this tragic loss of life, and ratifying the global tobacco treaty is a vital first step.

It is time that our country joins the rest of the world and ratifies this life-saving treaty!

Please email your Senators today and ask them to:
1) Take a public stand in support of the global tobacco treaty and
2) Call on the Bush Administration to submit the treaty to the Senate immediately.

Onward,
